Communications & Marketing Intern
The primary task of the Communications office is to promote the organization and its work to the media, the community and the general American public. Typical intern duties include assisting the Communications Director in keeping board members, general members, friends and the media informed of events at the organization via Internet, distribution of documents and press releases, writing and responding to outside inquiries for information, and updating the website. Social media plays a vital role in marketing events, recruiting new members and become more visible in our community. Duties will also include, providing website support and updates, manage Facebook page, and will work closely with the Publications intern on tasks pertaining to positing relevant articles on the website, videos on our social media profiles. While we already have a website format in place, we need someone to ensure that our content is up-to-date, thorough, user-friendly, accessible, and intuitively organized.
Qualified candidates must exhibit strong research, writing and computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Web-Management skills). An interest and academic background in international affairs and/or the UN is helpful but not required.
