Model UN Intern


As the Model UN intern you will assist the Director of Global Classrooms and the Director of Education. Assist in the annual Global Classrooms program, which is an innovative educational program that engages middle school and high school students in an exploration of current world issues through interactive simulations and curricular materials. Global Classrooms cultivates literacy, life skills and the attitudes necessary for active citizenship. Specific duties include: inventory, collect and distribute supplies and/or equipment for program and conferences; work with event coordinator to write and create promotional materials, background guides, conference programs, handbooks, etc; organize materials, vendor orders, travel arrangements or other conference logistics; establish and maintain files, records and other informational sources; process forms, invoices or documents; basic editing of documents and press releases; assist with programmatic and conference tasks; assist teachers and conference attendees with preparation; upkeep of web-based and other materials; and participate in a variety of UNA-USA events and programs.


Qualified candidates must exhibit a strong interest in Education, Model UN, International Affairs and/or the Non-profit sector. Experience with Model UN or working with students is highly preferred; knowledge of general office practices and principles is helpful; experience in working independently and as part of a team; good writing and computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint). An interest and academic background in international affairs and/or the UN is helpful but not required.
